Lower Beat of the Cloongee Fishery
The Cloongee Fishery is divided into the Upper Beat and the Lower Beat.
The Lower Beat extends from the Wooden Bridge down (See Map) and includes the Lake River. More information will be added to this page soon.
With the right conditons, the Joinings Pool will fish on the fly as well as the Bridge Pool on the Lake River. We will be adding a more detailed description of each pool soon
Bait & Spinning

All of the Lower Beat will fish well with the Worm and Spinners.
Some of the best pools for spinning and worming are found on this Beat, such as Cool Raw, Matha’s Rock, Hillondine Pool, the Joinings Pool, Com, Carraigeen and the Small Rocks, that will fish well even when water levels on the Upper stretch are too low. However, when conditions are right, the whole beat offers excellent spinning and worming opportunities.
We will be adding a more detailed description of each pool soon, so watch this space!
